First off, here are my PC's (an ASUS TP500LA) specs: i7-5500u @ 2.4GHz Intel HD Graphics 5500 8 GB RAM 1 TB Drive Windows 10 64-bit (came preinstalled) My WiFi adapter is a Qualcomm Atheros AR946x. I've had this PC since about the beginning of March, and it's performed great in every department except for WiFi. It seems to be intermittent, in that sometimes it works great, but other times it is painfully, unusably slow. My plan allows for speeds up to 35 Mbps, but I usually get around 10-12 most of the day. According to the resource monitor I am using almost none of my allowed bandwidth. This was never an issue on my last laptop with Windows 8.1, so what could be the culprit here?

Also to note is that I never seem to have this issue when I use my school's WiFi connection; this is exclusive to my home network.
